Panelist at Cyber Threat Intelligence 2022

Had the privilege of serving as a panelist at the 5th International Conference on Cyber Threat Intelligence 2022, held at the Marriott, Islamabad. Organized by Total Communications in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan, the conference focused on the evolving cyber threat landscape and the pivotal role of Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) in safeguarding critical infrastructure.

“Role of CERTs”

During this session, I joined distinguished experts to discuss the functions, challenges, and strategic importance of CERTs in Pakistan’s cybersecurity ecosystem. Fellow panelists included:

  • Mr. Muhammad Babar Khan – Director IG & CS, Ministry of IT & Telecom, providing insights on governmental cybersecurity policies and national security implications.

  • Mr. Khawaja Mohammad Ali – Head of Technology Strategy, Risk & Governance, National Bank of Pakistan, and Cyber Warfare SME, Department of Defence & Strategic Studies, sharing perspectives on financial and defense sector collaboration against cyber threats.

  • Mr. Imran Rasheed – CISO, Punjab Safe City Authority, highlighting practical cybersecurity applications in smart city initiatives.

  • Prof. Dr. Muazzam Ali Khan Khattak – Department of Computer Science, offering an academic perspective on cyber threat intelligence theory and research.

  • Rafay Baloch – Cybersecurity Researcher & Analyst, contributing insights on emerging threats and innovative mitigation strategies.
